About
At first, they were just two people who shared a common link to the Chicago suburbs. Justin Gorrell and Stefanie Greenberg were crossing paths for years in San Francisco, at shows, and among friends. When they finally met, they bonded over their love of Phish and their ability to pour sweat in any situation. If it wasn’t obvious from day one, it now makes sense that the most ideal way to celebrate their marriage would be to curate their own festival.
If you’re wondering “why now,” the story begins in Paris in December 2018…
“I can’t believe he passed up baked goods.”
As they hurried down Rue des Abbesses, Stef questioned why Justin would skip boulangerie after boulangerie en route to an unknown destination. She thought, “I’ve never seen him like this before. On a typical Sunday, nothing comes between Justin and pain au chocolat. And in Paris of all places—the land of good bakes!” She let it slide as it became clear, for the first time on record, that he was intent on showing her something more interesting than how hungry he was.
“I was so surprised she didn’t know any other languages.”
Justin was laser-focused on guiding Stef past perfectly baked croissants and on to Le Mur des Je t’Aime, a mural situated in a quaint park with “I love you” written in 250 languages. After falsely thinking the park was closed, they gained entry and lingered as Justin waited out the perfect moment to ask an important question. “Why are we here,” Stef asked as she grew impatient. “I don’t speak any other languages.” “Sacré bleu,” Justin thought, “I’ve got to tie this down quickly.”
As the crowd cleared, Justin turned to Stef, said something really silly, and asked her if she’d like to be his Stef forever. She obliged and they proceeded to eat both pain au chocolat and croissants. Très magnifique!
